1:3 Scale model

The story behind this 1:3 scale real working Ford Cosworth DFV engine is that it was about time it was going to be possible for car and F1 enthusiasts to purchase a real functioning scale model engine.

Real working

So we came to the plan to build a real functioning engine in a size which you can actually place on your desk, and of course, run it!

3 Years in the making

We wanted a classic and iconic engine and finally we chose the Ford Cosworth DFV F1 engine. It took us over 3 years to work it all out.

1200 parts

The moulds were made to make all casted parts, produce all other machined parts and including all bolts and nuts the engine exists out of about 1200 parts.

Up to 10.000 revs

The engine has a capacity of 76cc and can rev up to 10.000. It produces about 9hp @ 9000 RPM and of course it sounds like a true V8. The sound is music to your ears!

Runs on methanol

It runs on methanol, which is the same as the radio controlled airplanes / cars and the weight is about 13 kg including the bottom plate.
